My Story

Date into Rescue: 2/15/2023

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Trixie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Great Danes are known as gentle giants. They have hearts as big as their bodies and can be goofy and playful. Trixie's days as a mama are behind her and it's time to live life as a pet. She could live happily with another large male dog or as your only dog. Due to her size we do not recommend a home with small dogs, cats or other smaller animals. Trixie will be fine with children that have grown up with dogs.

What is my personality like: Ahhhhhh Trixie. What a sweet big girl. She is a beautiful lilac harlequin (spots) Great Dane. She is actually among the first danes ever known of this spectacular color. Trixie gets along and adores all humans. She is quite the lady, never meeting a male dane that she doesn’t enjoy sharing chew toys and big bones with. She also is good with other females, once she decides they won’t steal all of her human attention.

Genetics have blessed Trixie with what we call a full figure girl. She will tell you that she is just big boned, and she is right.  Honestly, not that FAT word, just a big girl. Her life dream is to own a dane day paw spa. Of course doggy bone cookies and bacon flavored nail polish will be included.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Trixie's birthday is 12/9/2018)

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
