Why am I with a rescue group? Basil was surrendered by his owners to a shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter. Basil is in liver failure. Additionally, Basil was diagnosed with chronic discospondylitis between L1 and L2. This is an infection in the disk space in his spine. This is typically treated with antibiotics. 

Basil is a distinguished gentleman for whom age is just a number. He is full of love and spunk and eager to share his life with you. Basil loves to curl up on any bed, couch, or anything he deems comfy enough, and nap away all day long. A perfect Netflix and chill buddy!

Basil walks well on a leash, but will follow you anywhere you go off leash. He sticks very close to his favorite people. Basil doesn’t know any basic commands. He loves to receive all of the attention from anybody who is willing to give it. Basil does like to explore his outdoor surroundings and adventure when he is in a new place. This boy will do anything and everything you do, and will stay right by your side all day long.

Basil is searching for a hospice home where he can relax, be loved unconditionally, and spend the rest of his golden years happily ever after.
