My Story

Date into Rescue: 07/06/2023

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Boomer is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Boomer needs an experienced owner, one who knows exactly what he needs and how to give it to him. Children under 18 would not work for Boomse as lots and lots of energy can make him nervous and very very shy and anxious. He is good with other dogs, and requires another younger dog in the home who is confident and can help teach him what confidence is and how to build it. Boomer simply wants a home that can help teach him how to be a true dog and help him learn what life is.

What is my personality like: Easygoing, Boomer likes to keep events low-key and not get too crazy. Boomer can become skittish with loud noises and sudden movements. Boomer was untouchable few weeks with us when he first arrived from OH. In that time, we have seen him calm down to show us enough of himself to see a calm demeanor and potential.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Boomer has started showing us his sweet demeanor. Our best description of him as a human would be the happy little boy who is part of the gang. He's not the gang leader and he's not a total follower, he's just right by his best mate's side. Boomer needs to have a steady home life with a predictable routine. He likes to know what's going to happen and when it's going to happen. He keeps tabs on our staff by bouncing high in his run to see what is happening. He's a good little boy who wants to make someone the happiest person in the world.

Boomer is timid and shy, but curious. He prefers a slow welcome and will quickly follow your movements when you're not watching him.

Tips and Tidbits: Boomer's birthday is 10/26/2021

Boomer was placed once but was only with his new owner for a few days.  A visitor came to the door and opened it.  Not thinking, his new owner reached down and grabbed Boomer from behind to keep him from bolting.  Scared out of his mind by the sudden and unexpected hands on him, Boomer turned and snapped, connecting with his new owners hand and arm.  With a lot of tears, she returned him as she could not overcome her fear after the incident.  He’s not ever offered to snap or bite in any way.  We also don’t grab him unexpectedly from behind.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
