My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/17/2023

Reason for being in rescue: owner release to groomer

Special Needs: Daniel is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Through no fault of his own, Daniel is looking for his second home in 1 year. Daniel is an active young man with the potential to grow into any kind of poodle you want him to be. He is not for a first time dog owner, and not for a family looking for an easy pet. This is a young dog with a lot of potential, but it is going to take patience and commitment to be successful. We are looking for a home VERY committed to taking him to training classes and spending lots of time with him. We're looking for an experienced owner with demonstrated experience taking dogs through positive reinforcement training. If you haven't made this type of commitment, Daniel is not your dog.

What is my personality like: Daniel can seem very independent but the opposite is true. He is seeking direction on what to do from humans. He settles quickly in the room and finds a spot near or on the feet of a human. Daniel has received basic commands such as sit, down, and walks well on a leash. He would like a home that offers companionship and adventures.

Daniel prefers to be at your side and enjoys a lot of eye contact so he can read your mood. He is looking for someone to lead him into adulthood. He wants to give all his trust to a person. He is not eager to share his home with another dog at this stage of his life. He gets along with other dogs fine and uses the manners appropriate for a 1-year-old. A home with adults or a family with teens is what we are seeking for Daniel.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Daniel is tentative but warms up quickly especially when treats are involved.

Tips and Tidbits: Daniel is estimated at 1 year old. We celebrate his birthday 8/16/2022.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
