My Story
Reason for being in rescue: transfer from rescue
Special Needs: Stevie is up to date on vaccines for his age. Stevie is not neutered. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract requiring you to neuter him at your cost within 12 months.
What kind of home would be best for me: Stewie is a young, active standard looking for a home that understands his breed. He requires another young, active dog in the home for play and socialization. He requires someone home more than they are away (work from home, home school, very active retiree, etc.). He needs a family committed to training and helping him learn to be the best boy that he wants to be. Stewie is good with small dogs and cats. To our knowledge he has never lived with children, but would be okay with mature children over 10 that are experienced with dogs and want to be involved in raising a young dog.
What is my personality like: Stewie is a young standard pup with a lot of love to give. Stewie may be shy and reserved at first but with the right person he quickly melts into your typical bouncy puppy.
Stewie needs another dog buddy to show him what life is all about, he would prefer a younger dog who still plays but could coexist with a senior. Stewie is cat friendly as well. Stewie would thrive in a family dynamic, he wants to be someone’s companion all day any day. Stewie needs a family dedicated to socializing him with all things in life as he’s a young man and very impressionable right now. Stewie is not yet clean in a crate overnight but is working on it. He will need someone home more than away to provide frequent potty breaks. He’s almost mastered house training but once again he will need someone very consistent and routine based to continue to master this skill. Stewie is slowly learning how to walk on leash. Expect to enroll Stewie in training classes to keep his young mind occupied, he can be a naughty puppy if left to wander too long.
Stewie will be the perfect addition to any family looking for their next adventure.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Stewie may be shy and reserved at first but with the right person he quickly melts into your typical bouncy puppy.
Tips and Tidbits: Stewie is estimated at 5 months old. We celebrate his birthday 5/29/2023.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
