My Story

Date into Rescue: 1/5/2024

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Fletcher is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Fletcher is the kind of dog that everyone would want by their fireplace - easygoing, happy, curious, and friendly. Not to mention he's beautiful. Fletcher doesn't think there's much to be bothered by in the world. It's all about the here and now. This boy's greatest joy in life is running as fast as he can to everywhere in our field, especially if you are right by his side. He would love to join you on a morning run or simply a leisurely stroll through the backyard.

While Fletcher has never truly lived in a home, we think his disposition would be well-suited for a variety of living situations. Young, active professionals to traveling sunseekers would be fine with Fletcher. Fletcher's favorite activities include anything that can make his bond to you stronger. Helping you cook in the kitchen, cool! Walking the yard collect debris, he's down! You're going to the bathroom: He's going with you! Fletcher loves sharing your personal space bubble!

Fletcher, though confident, would prefer another furry friend in the home. He loves to lead and is an exquisite leader. His furry companions follow him around all day long, looking to him for pointers and tips on how to just be a dog!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Fletcher is pleasantly surprised you stopped by and will promptly ask for pets after a good sniffing. He definitely loves to check you out before offering his plush curls for a pat. Fletcher walk into new situations with a confidence, and even in moments he is unsure he pushes forward determined to overcome everything once it is set before him.

Fletcher is a dog to its fullest and having lived the first years of his life as a breeding stud Fletcher loves to make sure everyone knows what is HIS. Fletcher does have an issue with marking indoor areas that a regularly frequented by other dogs. In our Adoption Center he will attempt to mark the walls or chairs. However we have tested him in our canteen/breakroom, a place where dogs seldom visit and he did not mark. We have begun teaching Fletcher to wear a belly band to help with this issue and lead him outside the moment he hikes up his leg. He is learning fast, but will need guidance on how to be a gentlemanly as his looks.

Tips and Tidbits: We do not have an exact birthdate but were told Fletcher is about 3 years old.  He looks and acts like a 3-year-old. We've estimated his birthdate at around 1/15/2021.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
