My Story

Date into Rescue: 4/4/2024

Reason for being in rescue: owner release

Special Needs: Moomoo is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Moomoo is better with dogs than humans. She displays a quiet confidence and calmness with the other dogs. With humans, she is nervous and uncertain. Moomoo obviously would do well in a home with children since she was raised with six of them in her former home. She is great with other dogs and requires a home with another large, confident dog. She is good with cats.

What is my personality like: Moomoo was lovingly surrendered by owners who simply did not have time for her. Raised with 6 children, Moomoo had lots of hands to love on her, but not a lot of training or socialization. Sadly, she spent more time outside than inside. Moomoo is very confident with dogs, less so with people. She is becoming more social with people with each passing day.

Moomoo walks on a leash, but she doesn't enjoy it. She will need continued  leash training. She will also need to be taught basic commands like sit, stay, come, down, and the like. Moomoo will need a moderate amount of exercise, a walk or two a day and a game of fetch should do the trick. She would do well with a solo adopter, a couple, or with a family. Moomoo is adjusting well here but she dreams of having a forever home and hopes you are the one that will make her dreams come true.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Moomoo is good with people if you give her time to assess the situation and allow her to warm to you. Moomoo doesn't take long before she'll approach you for pets and loving. Her new environment there may be the reason she's a bit shy at first because in her previous home she was great with men, women, and children.

Tips and Tidbits: Moomoo's birth date is estimated to be on or about 11/20/2022.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
