My Story

Date into Rescue: 3/26/2024

Reason for being in rescue: stray

Special Needs: Snickers is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Snickers is a doodle of unknown mix. Our best guess is a labradoodle.

What kind of home would be best for me: Snickers would love his adopter to be home more than they're away and wants one that will provide him the loving, training, and treats he deserves. Snickers is a big confident guy that enjoys exploring so a fenced in yard is required -never again will this boy be lost and wandering! He's not a big barker and does well in his crate. He does well on car rides and enjoys going places. Snickers will do well in any adopter whether a sole adopter, a couple, or a family. He is a younger, active dog that needs plenty of physical and mental stimulation every day. Snickers has not been tested with cats.

What is my personality like: Snickers was found as a stray wandering the streets before coming to us. This happy guy put any bad experiences he had behind him and is looking forward to living the good life. Snickers is a fun and gentle dog with a ton of love to offer people. He does well with other dogs. Snickers is a kindhearted big guy that gets alone with everyone, human or canine. He walks on a leash but will need training to do it well. He will need to be taught basic command such as sit, down, stay, come, and the like. With a little bit of training and a little bit of guidance Snickers will become a wonderful dog and lifelong companion.

Snickers is more than ready to head down a new path that leads to a new home, a new family, new adventures, and a lifetime of love and fun. In return he'll provide you with a ton of love unlike any other you've experienced. Snickers is just that special.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Snickers loves people. He will happily walk up to anyone he encounters seeking affection. Snickers loves being loved on and returns that love in kind. He's good with men and women and we expect he'll enjoy being with kids as well.

Tips and Tidbits: Snickers was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition, our veterinary partner has estimated he is 5 years old. We celebrate his birthday 3/26/2021.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
