Biography

Casper was surrendered to rescue as a breeder release. To no one's surprise, he is a follower at heart and does not take the lead in most situations. He acts the way the dogs he is with act. This led to him biting a caregiver here on two different occasions. These actions have led him to join our sanctuary SOS dog.

We will let Casper speak for himself.

I follow what my pack does, and I was with a pack of feral dogs and made a big mistake. I bit a caregiver here at the farm who I had interacted with many times before without a problem. If I hadn’t made the mistake of biting, I’d probably have my own home by now as I am smart guy and AKC registered. CPR even has a copy of my Certified Pedigree from the AKC on file!

I still dream of going to a forever home that has other dogs. I love furry friends! I love people too, but I am scared of loud noises so no kids or scary movies! I’d love to live with other calm dogs in a calm house.

Not to brag, but people say I am incredibly smart and can learn anything you teach me in a matter of days. So, again, I don’t understand why I’m still here and going to SOS when I’m really a good boy who just needs an adopter who can be patient and teach me. I’ve learned sit and a few other basic commands already and I’ll learn anything you care to teach me. I just want my own family and forever home!

The downside to being smart is I will voice my opinion. I will tell you if I don’t like what you are doing or what you want me to do. I also tend to be what they call a “Velcro dog” with people I like. I will constantly be at your heels just yapping away about everything that comes across to my mind.

Because of the biting, I will, in all likelihood, spend the rest of my life here at CPR. I’m not complaining. CPR is a fine place to live. I get good food, treats, water, heat and blankets in the winter and A/C during the hot and humid summer. Should I ever need medical care they provide that as well. I have friends to play with and great caregivers that even forgive me for a rare bite that might happen.

I really wish I could find a forever home of my own, but I understand that is going to be a difficult if not impossible task. But guys, I really need 10 sponsors to help with all my needs because they all come with a cost, and it looks like I’m going to be her awhile. Thanks in advance to my heroes that sponsor me.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
