Biography
Caliopy was released to us from her breeder. Her breeder is one we enjoy working with but life in a breeder's home is very different from life in your home. Caliopy's early life was a quiet country life. Caliopy is one of those dogs for whom the transition from a life filled with dogs to play with and few humans to becoming a cherished pet is taking longer than most. We don't know when this will happen, but we are confident it will. In the meantime, we continue to work every day to show her how much humans have to offer.
Our SOS program was originally intended for senior dogs for whom a new home may not be possible because of their age. Caliopy is a new breed of SOS - the young but oh so special dog that needs a bit more time to blossom into the kind of dog that walks proudly down a neighborhood street, a part of a human/animal team. Caliopy we feel will get there but we want her to get there at her own pace.
What is the dog we see today - A dog's dog! Caliopy is a playful little girl. She loves playing with other dogs and as well as toys. You can often find her bouncing and happy, running laps around the yard, ears streaming in the wind. Horses are also fascinating creatures that Caliopy is always glad to see grazing near her fence.
Caliopy was never bred, and her inner puppy still shines through. She has a beautiful demeanor and a playful spirit, and we know will grow into a wonderful companion. When she feels safe and relaxed her joyous personality emerges. We believe her playfulness will eventually extend to her adopter as well. We know, no matter what it takes, the reward in earning this sweet girl's trust and love will be well worth it. Remember, all good things come to those that wait, and Caliopy is most definitely a good thing.
Sponsorship
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest. Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org
I LOVE MY Virtual Adopters! Caliopy is looking for her virtual family!
