My Story

Date into Rescue: 08/09/22

Reason for being in rescue: Kiera was found as a stray by animal control in North Carolina and landed at a shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.

Special Needs: Kiera is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Kiera was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on her. Our best guess is that she is a labradoodle, but only a DNA test will confirm what sort of doodle mix she is. Please note we will NEVER guarantee a doodle is hypoallergenic or will not shed.

What kind of home would be best for me: Kiera is a sweet and loving soul - she simply wants a family to love her. She loves to spend her time playing with her furry friends, but the moment you come around she is dancing around happy to see you! Kiera would do well in a number of environments from an only dog to the third member of your pack. Kiera is a sweet and loving girl; truthfully, she is just interested in living life by your side. We believe she'd be happiest in a home where someone is home more than they are away. Kiera is excited about life and adventure and will need some guidance regarding slowing down just a bit on lead. She has been cat tested and small dog tested and did amazing with both, sniffing and moving about her day.

What is my personality like: We wish that dogs could talk and tell us their history. How Kiera ended up a stray roaming the streets in a great mystery. She's happy-go-lucky, enthusiastic, and has clearly known human kindness and affection. Whatever the past has been, it certainly hasn't dulled Kiera's outlook on life or her heart for adventure.

Kiera is a kind and gentle girl. She loves wholeheartedly and without hesitation. She is playful and loves to spend time playing with you or her furry friends. She is curious and interested in new environments and situations, resilient in areas that spook her and fast to recover from unknown events. Kiera is a friendly and welcoming dog with a heart of gold who simply loves people! She plays wonderfully with other dogs but is also not afraid to be independent and spend time by herself just chilling in the yard.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Kiera can show case a mild amount of introvert behavior when it comes to meeting new people. She just doesn't know how to hold conversation well, and hey a lot of us can't. Kiera is always open for a treat though, and just like children given a tasty incentive Kiera will become your friend. Once she has had her fill of treats all she needs is every single head rub you're willing to give her!

Tips and Tidbits: Kiera was found as a stray. We have absolutely no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 2 years old. We celebrate her birthday 8/1/22.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
