My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Dutton was surrendered to rescue by owners who could no longer care for him
Special Needs: Dutton is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Dutton has a chicken allergy and eats a sensitive stomach diet.
What kind of home would be best for me: Dutton is a young, active, happy boy. Because young Dutton has so much energy, he would love his forever family home to be active. He would absolutely thrive in an active household. Dutton is playful and gets along well with other dogs. He will chase cats so he would do better in a cat-less home.
Because Dutton is such a big boy he will need to live in a house. No apartments or townhomes for this boy. A fenced yard gives him a safe space to run and play on days when you're not out exploring. Dutton will do well whether his adopter is a single person, a couple, or a family, though he would be best with older children (10+ years) who can handle his exuberance. He doesn't always realize his size and may jump up when he's excited.
What is my personality like: Dutton is a stunning 2.5-year old white and brown parti standard poodle bursting with energy and enthusiasm. He started out life with a breeder but was given to his owner at six months old. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, he is now in our care and ready to find his forever family.
Dutton is a smart boy - he is house, and crate trained and knows commands like sit, stay, lay down, give paw, and speak. He enjoys grooming sessions every 4-6 weeks and is a champ at the groomers. Dutton would love to join you on all your adventures - whether it's long walks, invigorating hikes, or fun trips to the beach or lake where he can splash around. His favorite activities include fetching and playing Frisbee and after a good workout, he'll happily snuggle up with you on the couch.
If you're looking for a loyal companion that's ready to embark on exciting adventures with you, Dutton is the perfect match. Come meet him today and start your wonderful journey together!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Dutton has never met a stranger! He adores people and treats everyone he meets a potential friend and playmate.
Tips and Tidbits: Dutton was born on 3/4/2022.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
