My Story
Reason for being in rescue: lovingly surrendered by owners
Special Needs: None noted
What kind of home would be best for me: Johnny came from a loving home where he coexisted peacefully with both cats and dogs, making him an adaptable companion for most any household. Johnny would thrive in a home with plenty of space to roam, as he is big guy who appreciates a house environment. Whether you are a single person, a couple, or a family, Johnny is ready to be a cherished member of your household. His previous owner noted his gentle disposition make him great with children of all ages, making him a wonderful family pet. Additionally, his love of snuggling on the couch means he would be an ideal companion for retirees or anyone looking for a cuddly friend. Johnny simply wants to be where you are. He is a Velcro boy looking for a family that appreciates a dog that wants to be with them 24x7.
What is my personality like: Johnny is a handsome brown and grey phantom standard poodle who is best, and most often, described as a love bug. At just a year and a half old, he was a rehome to the owner who released him to CPR when due to unforeseen health and life changes issues, he now finds himself in our care, eagerly awaiting his forever home. Johnny is not only beautiful, but also intelligent. He has mastered commands like sit, stay, and give paw, showcasing his eagerness to learn and bond.
Johnny's previous owner describes him as perfect balance between being a couch potato and an active dog. He delights in playful romp with his furry friends, but once playtime is over, you'll find him happily curling up beside you for some quality cuddle time. He loves his grooming sessions every 4-6 weeks and is a true champ at the groomers, ensuring he always looks his best.
Johnny is the epitome of a love bug! While he enjoys playful interactions with other dogs, he finds his greatest joy when nestled next to you. His gentle nature allows him to coexist peacefully with cats, making him an excellent addition to a must-pet home.
How do I act when I first meet new people: When meeting new people, Johnny can be a bit timid at first, but don't let that fool you! Once he warms up, he transforms into the world's biggest love bug, eager to shower you with affection.
Tips and Tidbits: Johnny was born on 7/4/2021.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
