My Story

Date into Rescue: 09/22/2024

Reason for being in rescue: Owner release/owner returning to the workplace and feels she cannot give him the life he prefers.

Special Needs: Titus is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Titus is a miniature aussie-doodle. We cannot guarantee that he will not shed.

What kind of home would be best for me: Say hello to Titus the Timid, a sweet soul who takes his time warming to new experiences. Titus is looking for patience and understanding - he needs things presented to him in a calm, confident manner. His big eyes tell the story of a dog who is not quite sure how he got to be here.

Titus needs a mentor dog and a human who is ready to mentor him as well. Titus is eager to seek affection from his caregivers, though he remains unsure around strangers. He seems to feel more comfortable with women than men, and while he may bark when approached, it's more of a "I don't know you" bark than an aggressive one. His buddy, Reese, helps him feel more secure and teaches him that people can be trusted. This is a dog born and raised during COVID.  He needs someone who will open his world up.

Finding a calm forever family with another canine companion will set Titus on the path to a happy life.

What is my personality like: Titus is timid and cautious, often sticking close to his best friend Reese and mirroring his actions. While he currently prefers the company of his buddy, he may become more social as his true personality emerges in a loving forever home.

Titus' adopter will need to teach him his basic commands such as sit, stay, come, down, and the like. Basic leash training will benefit both Titus and his adopter, providing opportunities for bonding and positive reinforcement. A calm environment is essential, as he can become overwhelmed with too many distractions. The ideal adopter will possess an abundance of patience, love, understanding, compassion, calmness, and empathy. A home with another dog (or two) would be fantastic, as this will help Titus learn the ropes of dog life. He currently takes cues from his buddy Reese and would likely do the same with your dog.

How do I act when I first meet new people: When meeting new people, Titus is wary and will bark to express his uncertainty. It's important to take your time; sitting quietly for a few minutes will allow him to adjust to your presence. He is more likely to accept affection from women than men. Remember, Titus is just starting out on his new journey, and with slow, steady training from caring individuals, he will grow into a loyal and loving companion. Your love and support will help him become your best friend for life!

Tips and Tidbits: Titus was born on 6/18/2022.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
