Special Needs: Nebula is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Meet Nebula, an extremely curious but shy yet playful and loving young standard poodle who is in the process of learning to trust people. Nebula has never known life as a pet, and never known life without the companionship of other dogs. Her forever home needs another large, confident dog in the home for socialization, guidance and play. She would love it if her adopter is home more than they are away; if you aren't, there needs to be a solid plan for consistent training and socialization.

Nebula's ideal adopter will be patient, loving, and kind, ready to help her adjust to her new life. Although she's making progress in her time with us, she still needs someone who can provide consistent love and guidance to help her blossom into the wonderful companion we know she can be. Nebula has not been tested with cats or small dogs.

What is my personality like: Nebula is a curious, beautiful girl who is just starting to learn what life as a companion is really all about. At 8 months young, she's had very little life experiences. The good news is she is young and resilient and seemingly easy to learn.

Nebula is curious but extremely wary of people. She will approach people when she sees them petting and playing with other dogs. She will come up to you and sniff you and might even boop her nose on you, but if you try to pet her she will bolt away. That won't stop her from approaching you again and repeating the same process all over again. Nebula knows nothing about walking on a leash; you will teach her everything.

Nebula is playful with other dogs and loves to play fetch - whether its' with a ball, a Kong, or a stuffed animal. While she enjoys the game, she may need some encouragement to bring the toy back to you! You will need to work on that with her. Nebula will need work in other areas as well. She needs to learn important skills like walking on a leash as well as mastering basic commands. With your love and guidance, she will thrive and grow more confident with each passing day.

If you are looking for a sweet and gentle companion who needs a little extra love and tenderness, Nebula is waiting for you!

How do I act when I first meet new people: When meeting new people, Nebula is shy and may bolt if approached too quickly. However, if you sit quietly and pet other dogs, she may curiously come closer to sniff you and even give you a gentle boop with her nose. At this stage, she isn't really for petting just yet, but with patience she will gradually learn to trust. It's evident to all that she wants to give love and get love in return, she just hasn't overcome her fears enough to do so yet.

Tips and Tidbits: Nebula was born on 1/28/2024.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
