My Story

Date into Rescue:12/3/2024

Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release

Special Needs: Bingo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Bingo has grade 3 hip dysplasia which is causing pain and weakness in his rear. A course of hydrotherapy may help to strengthen his hindquarters, but he is not a candidate for surgery according to our veterinary partner. He will be on pain medicine for the rest of his life and will require regular check-ups.

What kind of home would be best for me:

Bingo is still learning to trust humans and build his confidence. Having spent most of his life in a breeding environment, he has had very little human interaction. Bingo is hesitant with humans but will approach if you are sat on his level. He will dance around and maybe bark and wiggle at you but not quite get within arm's reach.

Bingo needs an adopter who can provide patience, time, and love. He will need a special person who can offer him a safe and loving environment. Bingo requires someone with an endless well of understanding, and someone who is committed to helping him grow into the confident, loving companion he’s meant to be.

Bingo is not suited for a home with a male dog, or for dog parks where he can interact with male dogs. Bingo is not suited for a home with young children; he is still learning that humans are okay and needs calm and consistent. Bingo would be suitable for a home with older teenage children who understand he may need space and time to adjust.

Bingo is looking for an experienced owner that will understand he needs time and patience. He needs a home that understands he will always walk differently and is never going to be a marathon runner. Mobility may get more difficult as he ages.

What is my personality like: Bingo was surrendered into rescue via his breeder. He's had very little life experience in his first 4 years, outside of breeding and living with other dogs. Everything about being a pet is new. You will teach him all that he knows.

Bingo will also need help learning the basics, such as walking on a leash and queues like sit, down, stay, and come. Bingo is shy and curious but is making great strides in developing his confidence. He’s still learning how to interact with people and female dogs, but when he feels comfortable, he enjoys playing with female dogs he likes.

Like a delicate flower, Bingo will need time to bloom and thrive in his new home. If you have the time, patience, and most of all, the love to nurture him, your efforts will be richly rewarded with a loyal, loving dog who will become your devoted companion.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Bingo is cautious and may not approach you right away. When meeting new people, it’s important to give him time and space to adjust to the situation. After a few minutes, he will typically allow a sniff of you hand. Bingo needs to move at his own pace and build trust in his own time.

Tips and Tidbits: Bingo's' birthday is 3/19/2021

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
