My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release
Special Needs: Chipper Chili Bean is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 2/19/25 he had a dental polishing.
What kind of home would be best for me: Meet Chipper (aka Chili Bean), a sweet boy looking for his forever home. Chipper is a retired breeding dog. He's lived in a breeding facility for all of his life. He's never lived in a home, never been a pet, and never known what consistent, compassionate human interactions look like.
Chipper is flexible when it comes to his living situation. He doesn’t mind if his adopter is a single person, a couple, or a family—although, due to his skittishness, he is best suited to homes with children over the age of 12. Chipper is easily frightened by sudden movements and loud noises, so a calm environment is crucial for him. Chipper absolutely requires another large, confident dog in the home.
Chipper has a long journey ahead before he can fully blossom into the wonderful dog we know he is. His adopter must understand that helping him become a loving companion will take time and effort. But once he’s comfortable, seeing him run and play joyfully or greeting you with a wagging tail and wet kisses will be the ultimate reward.
If you can provide Chipper with the home, love, and dedication he needs, the bond you’ll share will be indescribable. Give Chipper a chance—he deserves a happy, fulfilling life.
What is my personality like: Chipper is a young dog with no life experience. His only perspective is from inside a breeder's home.
Chipper needs a special adopter who can be home most, if not all, of the day. He is an anxious pup and has fears that require extra care and attention.
Chipper will need an adopter who has an abundance of patience, kindness, understanding, and love as he learns to trust. He is a work in progress, and it will take time for him to feel comfortable and confident in his new environment. Everything - and we mean everything - is going to be new. Sleeping on a dog bed, riding in a car, going for walks or hikes, they are all life experiences he needs to build.
How do I act when I meet new people: Despite his fears, Chipper’s heart is full of love. He truly wants to trust people and find his special human who will love him in return. He will not love you on your first meeting. He will be incredibly timid and shy.
Tips and Tidbits: Chipper was born on or around 7/9/2023.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
