My Story

Date into Rescue: 2/9/2025

Reason for being in rescue: Owner surrender

Special Needs: Little Lil is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 2/26/25 she had a dental polishing. Little Lil arrived in rescue with hookworms and giardia. She has been treated for these.

What kind of home would be best for me: With humans, Lil takes things at her own pace, and it is very important that her potential adopters understand that if she is pushed too hard, it will be too overwhelming for her, and she will regress. Patience, and calmness is key with her. Little Lil would be okay with older, considerate children above the age of 12 that will respect her boundaries. Having another confident canine (or a couple) in Little Lil's new home is required to help her feel secure and bring our her playful side even faster!

What is my personality like: Meet Little Lil - a playful pup with a zest for life, and a heart full of love — she just needs a little time to show it! This sweet girl can be a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her fun, goofy personality shines right through. Little Lil absolutely loves other dogs of all sizes, and she comes alive when she’s with her canine friends. Playtime is her absolute favorite part of the day, whether is play wrestling, chasing, or just running zoomies around the yard.

Little Lil can be a bit reserved at first until she trust you. She will need a good bit of patience in order to build trust. She is a young dog who needs a family to teach her how to be a pet. Little Lil would benefit greatly from things like hikes with friends, trips to Lowes or tractor supply, frequent car rides, etc. All of these things will help Lil grow into the confident, secure dog she is destined to be. She is still learning things like simple obedience and commands, but is making lots of progress with potty training and leash walking!

How do I act when I first meet new people: This sweet girl can be a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, Little Lil's fun, goofy personality shines right through.

Tips and Tidbits: We celebrate Little Lil's birthday 07/09/2023.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
