JoJo came to us after his owner claimed he had bitten him on several occasions, mostly during bathing, grooming and doing things that JoJo didn't like. After hearing about the events, we learned that the owner was not correcting him positively and had physically hit him when he acted this way. As you can guess, this did not help JoJo.

JoJo can be shy and timid, and does have some protective tendencies.  However he is leash and crate trained. He is good with other dogs, and warms up to people once they earn his trust. JoJo mostly keeps to himself, but is good with the other dogs when they are near him. He is very picky about when he does and does not want to be petted, if he isn’t in the mood he will nip at you as a warning. JoJo is good with cats.

The possibility of JoJo ever being adoptable is unknown, but he can live with us until we feel that he is ready and trustworthy. JoJo favors some of our caregivers but still can't be fully trusted when you do things that he does not care for. The perfect home for Jojo would be somewhere he could do what he wants when he pleases. He needs an owner that would give him love when he wanted it and space when he didn’t. It must be an adult-only home with patient, experienced dog owners. Other dogs would be fine as well as cats.

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
