My Story

Date into Rescue: Gypsy originally arrived in rescue in April 2016. Sadly, life changed dramatically changed and they could no longer care for their dog. Gypsy returned to rescue in April 2022 and is looking for her forever home.

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Gypsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Gypsy is an active, on-the-go girl looking for a very active family. She would be great as a hiking, biking or running partner. Gypsy is good with dogs of all sizes as long as they are high energy. She would be way too much for a senior dog. Gypsy believes that cats are meant to be chased; we will not place her in a home with cats. Gypsy has never lived with children, but will be happy with high energy children over 10. Gypsy is not a couch potato - she is looking for a home that is on the go.

What is my personality like: Gypsy was found as a stray in 2014 and landed in rescue. She was adopted quickly by a loving family who made her their princess. Sadly, life changed for Gypsy's owners and they could no longer care for her so she returned to rescue.

Gypsy has terrier energy and can go go all day. She loves to play and is looking for a home to play with her, encourage positive training, and to go on adventures (like walks & hikes) with her. She can be a bit of a tough, rough chewer, but loves kong type toys. She is food motivated which makes training easier and keeps her entertained with food type toys/games (like fillable kongs/lickmats/slowfeeder).

Gypsy is good with dogs of all sizes but should be cautious with small dogs as she is a lot of dog. We have found she LOVES water, she will get in kiddie pools, and she loves to bite at water coming out the hose.

Gypsy has a bubbly-friendly personality. She is playful and loves to play with her buddies here at the farm. She engages with other dogs once she is comfortable with them and loves to play. She enjoys treats and getting exercise outside. Gypsy is a social butterfly and loves people of all kind. She also knows how to sit on command, for treats of course!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly and excited to meet you

Tips and Tidbits: Gypsy is estimated at 10 years old. We celebrate her birthday as 05/16/2012.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
