Biography

Sweet Ryan. This dog has been through so much, yet has the most gentle spirit you will ever meet. We cannot imagine the pain and irritation he has lived in for many years. Bad eyes. Badly infected years. And terrible skin. We spent 3 months managing Ryan's myriad of medical challenges to prepare him for his forever home. He will forever have limited hearing, sometimes itchy skin, balding and need eye drops. But he will make up for all of that with the most love you can imagine. And can you say teeth!! Talk about the cutest underbite you'll ever snuggle!

Ryan arrived in rescue with very bad skin and ears, neither of which had received medical attention in many years. On 7/9/21 he had a bilateral ear ablation. Ryan's ears have healed well, though his hearing is now limited. He has chronic skin allergies and will likely never regrow hair on his underside. We think his spots are cute! As a result, he eats a special diet. Ryan also has end stage bilateral corneal melanosis. His eyes must be cleaned daily and he is on daily drops.

To meet Ryan is to fall in love with him. He watches you with the most soulful eyes, asking you to pet him. He meets your hands with a gentle nudge. If you are sitting down, he sits patiently beside you asking to get into your lap. If it's bed time, he wants to be with you. Ryan enjoys being outside in the sun and would be great for short strolls. He doesn't realize he's almost 20 pounds and really just wants to be a lap dog.

Ryan is in permanent foster in our sanctuary program due to chronic challenges with his ears. Every time we get him stable, another issue pops up. We've been working with Ryan and his ears for over a year. At this time, we are not comfortable placing him in a home due to the high likelihood that he will require additional ear surgeries. Thankfully Ryan has a foster home committed to his care, a veterinarian team that adores him, and a community of SOS supporters that make his care possible!

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions?  Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org

I love my Virtual Adopters! PAM K
