Biography

Romeo was turned into a local shelter by her owners for biting. The previous owner took Romeo in after finding out that he was mistreated which is most likely why this little guy is timid.

Sweet Romeo arrived at Carolina Poodle Rescue on the 21st of June 2017 scared and not understanding why he is here. This poor guy is trying so hard to find his place and feel secure but he needs a patient, special person for that. Romeo doesn't do well with other dogs being in his space, and he is known to resource guard, but if you give this sweet boy time he will show you who he really is.

Romeo enjoys belly rubs, tail scratches, and playing fetch. He is food motivated and knows simple commands such as sit and lay down. Romeo does walk great on a leash but often is startled if you tend to walk heavy or stomp. Despite his past he is still just a dog that loves his treats, tennis balls, and his favorite people.

If you have a soft spot for broken dogs then this guy could possibly be great for you. He has the potential to be someone's loyal companion and has quickly bonded to one of his familiar caregivers. It will just take time and reassurance.

Romeo needs someone gentle and patient to understand and help him flourish. He is shy, and weary of new people but just sitting on his level with treats helps him to come around.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
