Biography

Henry Thomas was found as a stray in upstate SC and came to the poodle farm.  He was young and cute and adopted out very quickly.  Sadly, in his home, his new owners got to know the real dog and found out that young and cute are not always the right makings for a family pet.  Henry Thomas had some quirks.  They really, really tried.  They worked with him from November of 2021 to July of 2022 before realizing that the safest place for Henry Thomas was the poodle farm.

We’ll let Henry Thomas speak for himself.

I’m an unpredictable guy and I have a bite history. I try to control myself and often grab a toy and shake that to keep me from being aggressive towards a person. I don’t know why I react like I do and neither does anyone else. I have bitten a caregiver here at the farm who I had interacted with many times before without a problem. No one can figure out why I act like this, and I sure can’t tell you why. Most of the time, like 98% of the time, I’m a good boy.

A toy is my FAVORITE thing in the world! I am in heaven and happiest when surrounded by toys. I can play and play and play.

They call me an independent guy. I’d say I am a discerning dog. There are other dogs I enjoy being around, but none of them are male dogs. What can I say - I dig the girls. I’m also choosy about the humans I allow in my life. Even then for some reason there are times when I will even lash out at the people I know and like.

So that’s why I will, in all likelihood, spend the rest of my life here at CPR. I’m not complaining. I get good food, treats, water, heat and blankets in the winter and A/C during the hot and humid summer. Should I ever need medical care that will be provided as well. And toys, they give me lots of toys! I have friends to play with and great caregivers that even forgive me for a rare bite that might happen.

I really wish I could find a forever home of my own but even I understand that is probably an impossible task. Please sponsor me today and let me continue living a good life here at the farm. Thanks in advance to my heroes that sponsor me. Pictures, emails and maybe even a video update will be sent to all of you!

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog!  I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more!  The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest.  Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog, me (Henry Thomas), that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org

I LOVE MY Virtual Adopters! HENRY THOMAS IS LOOKING FOR HIS VIRTUAL FAMILY!
