My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/17/2020

Reason for being in rescue: Stray - Anderson

Special Needs: None noted - Henry Thomas is a very light shedder.  He is not hypoallergenic but not a heavy shedder like smooth coat breeds.

What kind of home would be best for me: Henry Thomas is a very cute, very active young dog. He is always on the go and looking for a family that can keep up with him. If you're looking for a running, hiking, biking companion, Henry Thomas may be your boy. Henry Thomas can be dog selective - he is a lot of dog. He'd be best as the only dog in a home. He does shed!

What is my personality like: Henry Thomas is a sweet boy. Our best guess is that he went on a big adventure and lost his way home. No one came forward for him, so now he gets to pick his family with our help!

Henry Thomas is a sweet boy. He loves people and loves to spend time with people. He loves toys and loves running and playing in fenced yard. He knows basic commands (sit and down) and is very food motivated. He walks well on a leash, though does pull when he gets excited. His forever family will continue working with him on leash and harness manners.

Henry Thomas does not like loud noises. He is crate trained, but does not love it. He can be dog selective and will growl and bark if another dog gets near his crate. Given this, Henry Thomas is looking for a home where he is the only dog.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly - sometimes too friendly.  He's all over new people and needs some manners instilled.

Tips and Tidbits: Henry Thomas's estimated birthday is 9/17/2018. Henry does just fine with cats!

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
