About Me

Name: Auban
Gender: Male
Breed: Australian shepherd mix
Estimated Birthdate: 10/31/2015
Height:  about 20" at the shoulder
Weight:  35 lbs give or take a few
Good with dogs:  Auban was born wild and free (we call it feral in the human world). He is excellent with his pack
Good with cats: Unknown and we don't want to try to find out
Good with kids: Auban does not care for humans of any type since our kind has been less than kind to him
Good with men: Auban does not care for humans of any type since our kind has been less than kind to him
Good with women: Auban does not care for humans of any type since our kind has been less than kind to him
House trained: Auban is comfortable in his cottage and is clean in his crate
Crate trained: Yes
Leash trained: Absolutely not
Must have fenced in yard: Without exception.  Auban was once wild and free but that freedom  cost some of his family their lives.  He needs the security of our fenced pastures and yard at the poodle farm and with the help of his virtual family, he can stay here for his life.

Biography

Auban is one of a group of 10 dogs that were rescued from a feral colony after the neighbors decided target practice was the way to go to get rid of the dogs they considered a nuisance. He arrived at the farm along with his pack in September of 2020.

Auban is one of the gentler of this colony. He's allowed some leash walking and he will take food directly from our hands. There is intelligence looking at us, curious about why we are kind and uncertain if the kindness will last. We have hopes one day he will believe that we will always be kind and he will learn to trust enough that he will become a dog who may be able to enjoy life as a family pet. If not, we are here for him. Meanwhile, we will keep working with him and with your help, give him life and love.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog!  I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more!  The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest.  Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go here for more info! https://tinyurl.com/SavingOurSeniorsandSpecials   Questions?
