About Me
Biography
Mona arrived as a rescue in August of 2020 with her pack and has been here since then. She was part of a feral colony living too close to roads, with neighbors threatening harm to the dogs if they weren't contained. Mona does well as part of her pack here. She is extremely cautious with people and is learning to trust our caregivers. We will continue to work with Mona with the hope that she may one day find a forever home. As of now she needs our, and your, support to start down that path.
Here's more info on me and why I will most likely live here at Dreamweaver Farms forever. I came from a feral pack situation, so I did not get the socialization that other dogs usually get with people. I am nervous around people, and very wary of them. I don’t think I will ever trust people enough to be adopted. I don’t know, maybe one day, but not right now.
I don’t do well with people. I tend to be very cautious—even with the caregivers here who I’ve known for years. God bless them—they continue to work with me, trying to help me feel more comfortable around people so that, one day, I might be adoptable.
It’s going to be a long journey. Right now, I don’t think I’ll ever trust people enough to find a forever home. Maybe that will change in the future, but it’s not likely at this moment.
Finding me a forever home would be like winning the Powerball—it’s a long shot. But honestly, I can’t complain. CPR is an amazing place to live. I spend my days with my pack, I get plenty of food, treats, fresh water, heat and blankets in the winter, and A/C during the hot, humid summer months. If I ever need medical care, they’ll make sure I get it.
They even provide me with toys to play with and cozy blankets to snuggle up in. It really is a great place to live, and I get to stay with my pack! But here’s the thing—they say that all the stuff I need, and love isn’t free. So, to keep living the good life here, I need at least 10 virtual adopters to help cover my monthly costs. By sponsoring me, you’ll help cover everything I need—food, treats, blankets, even the water I drink. I’m so lucky I don’t have to worry about stuff like that!
Sponsorship
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard-to-place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest. Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org
