Biography

Buddy arrived as a rescue in August of 2020 with his pack and have been here since then. He was part of a feral colony living too close to roads, with neighbors threatening harm to the dogs if they weren't contained. Buddy does well as part of a pack. He is extremely cautious with people and is learning to trust our caregivers.

Here's more info on me and why I will most likely live here forever. I came from a feral pack situation, so I did not get the socialization that other dogs usually get with people. I am a bit nervous around people, but I’ve gotten better and enjoy being petted, just don’t reach out for my head when you meet me as that still frightens me. I do love pets though, and chin scratches and chest scratches. I am curious and interested in people and would still love to find a home of my own even though I know that’s a long shot.

I love to play with toys. Sometimes it's a chew toy and I also enjoy foraging type toys. I love to snuggle up in blankets when I’m in my crate or run here. I’m not a picky eater, but I do love canned dog food!

We will continue to work with Buddy with the hope that he may one day find a forever home. As of now he needs our, and your, support to start down that path.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick, or hard-to-place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for Buddy to be your virtual dog!  I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more!  The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest.  Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog, me (Buddy), that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
