My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/28/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release

Special Needs: Beckett is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: We are seeking a home with an experienced dog owner and someone who is home more than they're away. Beckett would benefit from another confident dog in the home to learn from and model behavior. Size does not matter - he is fine with dogs of all sizes. He has never lived with cats, but seems to tolerate them. Young children make Beckett a bit nervous but older kids that know shy dogs would be fun. He would prefer a family that is home a little more often to help continue teaching him house manners.

What is my personality like: Beckett is learning what life is all about. He has been a breeder stud guy for the first part of his life. He doesn't know much about being a family guy but what he's been told he knows he wants one. Beckett is quiet and laid back. Nothing seems to phase him or upset him, but he is a little shy. He wants to learn and love everyone around him who will help guide him. Beckett can be a little spunky sometimes but settles easily.

Beckett is crate trained and learning how to stay clean during the day and night. He is also learning basic cues and boundaries; he would thrive in a home that continues his training to help him be an awesome guy. Since Beckett has been with us he has not tried to leave his area, but we would suggest his new home have a fenced in yard area to keep him safe in. He doesn't seem like the type to dig or run away but he does get shy and nervous in new places. Beckett is medium to low energy and does not require a lot of activity in his life. He would rather just hang out with you on the couch or in a bed. He does enjoy occasional adventures on foot or in a car.

Teaching a dog how to be a pet is the most rewarding experience. The joy of watching them snuggle in their first dog bed, go on their first adventure, and learn to seek out your affection is unmatched. Beckett has a gentle demeanor and an eager spirit. He's ready to learn with his forever family!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Beckett is shy at first but warms up rather quickly. He wants a family that will him theirs.

Tips and Tidbits: Beckett's breeder stated he was 5 years old when surrendered. We celebrate his birthday as 9/28/2017.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
