PLEASE ASK FOR LUCY'S FULL STORY! Lucy is a sweet, affectionate Standard Poodle who came to CPR as a breeder release and has made steady progress learning how to live in a home. She was adopted and lived with a family for two years, but was returned after an incident involving the resident dog.
Must have: calm home, patient adopter, predictable routine, safe feeding practices
Exercise: moderate — walks, exploring, gentle play
Best with: adults or families with older children; homes with a respectful dog (helpful but not required)
Not ideal for: chaotic homes; families expecting instant confidence
Energy level: moderate — gentle, curious, affectionate
Lucy needs time to warm up in new environments, but once she feels secure, she becomes affectionate, curious, and eager to be part of daily life. She enjoys gentle attention, exploring, and spending time with her people.
Lucy is a loving, intelligent girl who blossoms with patience. She enjoys companionship, gentle affection, and being included in daily routines.
Good with dogs: yes — friendly and playful; benefits from a respectful companion
Good with kids: older children
Cats: Unknown - Will be tested.
Fun fact: Once Lucy trusts you, she’ll follow you everywhere — a softhearted red poodle who just wants to belong.
