Biography

Ginger is a middle-aged girl who arrived in rescue when her owner's health failed. Raised in a home with another dog and a mom that spoiled her rotten, Ginger is accustomed to being a pampered princess.

Ginger is wary of new people at first but loves pets and any attention paid to her as it's what she had come to expect from her former home. Sit down on the floor, give her a minute or five, and let come to you. That is the best way to approach Ginger. When you do you will see her come in for pets. Then she will climb into your lap for ear rubs and more pets. She may even provide a few wet kisses if you are lucky. When you stop petting Ginger she'll shoot you a side eye or a fallen glare as if to say, "I have not given you permission to stop petting me." She thinks she's royalty and who's to tell her that she's not?  Nothing stops her butt wiggle!

Ginger is a hot mess for sure. Her last vertebra has a bony growth and a loss of disc space. There is no fix for this. This abnormality of her spine causes her to be occasionally urine incontinent. If you lift her tail up and try to change her posture, she will snap because it hurts. You will need a professional to do sanitary grooms. Otherwise, she's sweet as can be.  She is on a non-steroidal anti inflammatory medication (meloxicam).  Going through1800petmeds, meloxicam 7.5 mg pills are .18 cents per day and she gets one pill per day. She is also on gabapentin but gabapentin at her dose must be purchased from your vet.  She also has a heart murmur (1/6) that does not require any meds.  She is currently on cytopoint which runs roughly $100 per month.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions?  Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org

I love my Virtual Adopters! GINGER IS LOOKING FOR HER VIRTUAL ADOPTERS!
