Biography
Why am I with a rescue group? Here’s a little about me and why I’ll most likely live at CPR forever. I came from a breeder release situation with my brothers Woody, Finn, Casper, and Shane so I didn’t get the same socialization with people that other dogs have.
I arrived at CPR along with my brothers in April 2024. While most of my brothers warmed up to people, I still don’t trust them. I get along fine with other big dogs. But...I don’t do well with people. I tend to be very cautious—even with the caregivers here who I’ve known for months. They continue to work with me, trying to help me feel more comfortable around people so that, one day, I might be adoptable. It's still a long way out but they are trying. I am very scared and often that makes my incredibly reactive. I have tried to bite on multiple occasions and I have landed a solid bite twice. I'm not an aggressive dog, I don't know why I bite.
Although my caregivers work with me constantly I haven’t warmed to people. I’m safe here at CPR and I’m comfortable in my environment as long as people don’t overwhelm me. The caregivers here say I’m going to have a long journey to becoming adoptable. Maybe that will change in the future, but it is a long time coming.
Finding me a forever home seems about as likely as me jumping over the moon. But I can’t complain. CPR is an amazing place to live. I get plenty of food, treats, fresh water, heat and blankets in the winter, and A/C during the hot, humid summer months. If I ever need medical care, they’ll make sure I get it. They even provide me with cozy blankets to snuggle up in!
Sponsorship
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick, or hard-to-place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest. Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org
