Biography

Say hello to Willow, a six-year-old Peekapoo, affectionately known as Woo Woo (or simply Woo). She and her sister, Sadie were surrendered to us when their owner had a new baby and could no longer care for them. Her owner shared, “These two are so very loved, and I’m going to be lost without them. I hope they find a home together, but as long as they find someone who loves them and spends time with them, I’ll be happy.”

Willow loves people and craves attention, especially belly rubs. She’s a bit of a snuggle bug and loves being near her humans. While she can suffer from some separation anxiety and may nip at your pant leg when you leave, she’s also very sweet and affectionate once she feels comfortable with you. Willow has a dislike for car rides—while Sadie will sit still, Willow prefers to wander and might try to sit in your lap, so taking them along to alleviate their anxiety may not be the best solution.

Willow is very fond of food. We think “When Harry Met Sally” is Willow’s favorite movie because when she sees you eating she’ll look at you and seemingly say, “I’ll have what she’s having.” Go ahead and try and resist giving her some. Because she can be a little food-aggressive, it’s best to feed her separately from Sadie. She loves vegetables, fruits, and especially pizza—so be prepared for some adorable begging!

Willow loves attention, especially belly rubs. They are her favorite! She’s a little snuggle puppy and loves her big sister Sadie. She also loves her “babies” - stuffed animals. She’ll greet you with one in her mouth and expects lots of praise for her prized possessions. She enjoys chasing squirrels and has a protective streak, barking at delivery people and keeping a watchful eye on the house.

Willow is housebroken and crate-trained, though she would prefer to sleep with you—whether you're in the bed or not! She and Sadie used to cuddle together on the couch at night, but Willow is perfectly content snuggling up wherever she can get some love. Willow has a strong personality. She will nip if you enter areas that she has claimed as hers - it could be a room, a door, a threshold or even a crate.

Willow and Sadie are a bonded pair. They have always been together, sharing a pen in their former home, so they must be adopted together. We know it may be challenging to find someone willing to adopt two dogs, but we’re hopeful that the perfect family will fall in love with these two sweet girls and offer them a forever home.

Willow and Sadie prefer to be the only dogs in your home. Cats would be okay. They are great dogs who are accustomed to being the alpha in the house. They are going to test you. They are not for inexperienced owners.

Sponsorship

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
