Biography
Why am I with a rescue group?
Boone arrived in March 2025, and though he was initially stressed and barrier-aggressive, we’ve seen him make significant progress in adapting to his new environment. With some patience and understanding, Boone is quickly warming up to his new life.
While Boone is a sweet, happy boy once he feels comfortable, he does have a few preferences. He dislikes children and doesn’t like people putting their faces directly in his. He will react negatively if forced into an interaction, so it’s important to respect his space. However, if you give him a little time to approach you, he’ll check you out and warm up—especially if you have a treat in hand!
Boone is a big boy with a big heart, and once he’s comfortable, he’ll show his affection with tail wags and happy bounces. While he’s not the type to run up and shower you with kisses, he will definitely appreciate your love and attention.
He’s also a smart boy! Boone already knows “sit” and “down,” and with treats and positive reinforcement, he’ll likely learn other commands quickly. As he’s a big dog, if you plan to walk him on a leash, he will need some leash training.
Boone came to us wearing a shock collar, but he will
never wear one again.
He does not like being crated.
This sweet boy deserves a life filled with love, praise, kindness, and treats.
Sponsorship
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest. Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org
I LOVE MY Virtual Adopters! Boone is looking for his virtual family!
