Biography
Why am I with a rescue group? In Holly P’s perfect world, nothing would ever change. Every day would be the same — the same people, the same routine, the same quiet moments. No surprises, no new faces, no shifting schedules. For Holly, predictability is peace. Change, on the other hand, is hard — really hard.
Holly is a deeply sensitive soul who struggles when her world feels uncertain. Even small changes can throw her off balance, and it takes her a long time — sometimes weeks or even months — to feel comfortable again. She needs consistency in her environment and in her people, and that kind of stability is rare to find. But when she does find it, she flourishes.
When Holly first arrived at the rescue, she was scared and unsure of everything. Meeting new people was overwhelming, and she would lunge or snap out of fear. It took time, patience, and a lot of gentle encouragement before she felt brave enough to step outside and begin exploring her new world. She needed reassurance, routine, and calm guidance to show her that she was safe.
Now, after months of consistent care, Holly has made wonderful progress. She’s learned that not all change is bad — but she’s still cautious. Even today, there are caregivers she trusts deeply and others she’s not quite sure about. With people she doesn’t know well, she may bark or growl to let them know she needs space. But with the people she does love? Holly’s affection knows no bounds.
Once she chooses you, that’s it — you’re hers. She’ll be your best friend, your shadow, your cuddle buddy for life. Movie nights, snacks on the couch, quiet time together — Holly lives for those moments of calm connection with her person. She’s loyal, loving, and devoted, but she gives that love to just one or two very special people. Holly isn’t a “meet everyone” kind of dog — she’s a “find her person and never let go” kind of dog.
Holly is adoptable to the right home. She is looking for a patient, experienced home that understands her need for routine and gentle handling. A quiet, predictable environment will help her feel secure and happy. She’s not a dog who will instantly trust, but for the right person — someone steady, kind, and willing to give her time — Holly will give her heart completely.
Sponsorship
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest. Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org
I LOVE MY Virtual Adopters! Holly is looking for his virtual family!
