My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Crownie was surrendered to a SC shelter due to the health of her owner. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.
Special Needs: Crownie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 09/30/25 she had a dental polishing and a deep ear cleaning.
What kind of home would be best for me: Crownie has always known is the comfort of another dog. She absolutely LOVES the company of canine friends and will need another, more confident dog in her new home to help guide her. With a strong furry role model, Crownie feels safe and supported as she navigates her new life.
Because of her timid nature, we recommend a home with older children, or children who can understand that Crownie will need patience, time, and gentle encouragement. She’s not quite ready to be a teddy bear just yet—but once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines. She will softly ask for pets, lean in for affection, and show you how much she appreciates your love.
What is my personality like: Meet Crownie, a beautiful standard poodle mix with a tender heart and a gentle soul. Crownie is a little shy and timid at first, but what she’s really searching for is a deep love and lasting connection with her forever family.
Crownie’s life recently changed when her elderly owner, who loved her dearly, could no longer care for her. This transition has left her a bit unsure of the world, and she’s still adjusting to her new surroundings. But even through her apprehension, it’s clear there’s a loving and loyal dog waiting to blossom. She wants nothing more than to stand faithfully by your side—even if the big world sometimes makes her tremble in her boots.
Crownie is looking for a calm, compassionate home that can give her the patience she needs and the companionship she craves. With another dog by her side and a family willing to help her grow in confidence, Crownie will surely blossom into the deeply devoted and loving companion she was meant to be.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Crownie is a little shy and timid at first, but what she’s really searching for is a deep love and lasting connection with her forever family.
Tips and Tidbits: The shelter estimated Crownie at 2 years old. We have no pre-rescue history on this dog. Based on her overall health and condition, our veterinarian has updated her age estimate to 5 years. We celebrate her birthday 08/25/2020.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
