My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners
Special Needs: Boomer is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Boomer has intervertebral disc disease at C4-5 and C5-6. He is currently taking Carprofen 25mg once/day for inflammation. He takes a muscle relaxer (methocarbomal) as needed.
What kind of home would be best for me: Boomer is like a fine wine, aged to perfection. This dapper gentleman is looking for a calm and quiet home to call his happily ever after. He loves people - he just wants his people to be over the age of 21. Boomer is used to being the only dog, but is just fine in foster with other small dogs. What he really wants is his people - people to give his whole heart to and that will reciprocate by making him the center of their world. He'd be delighted to go on road trips, run errands and be your everyday companion. His non-negotiable - Boomer must sleep in the bed - he believes snuggles are essential!
What is my personality like: Meet Boomer - 9-year-old gentleman whose wild puppy days are behind him and who is now searching for a life of calm, love, and stability.
For most of his life, Boomer was the beloved only baby in his home. But when children came along, he made it clear he wasn’t happy sharing the spotlight. He wasn’t mean — just naughty, expressing his displeasure by using the kids’ rooms as his personal potty. Because of this, Boomer is looking for a home without children. (Visitors are fine, but permanent kid roommates are not on his wish list.)
Boomer is affectionate and still active for his age. He loves going for walks, being close to his person, and most of all - being the center of your world. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be your very best friend, Boomer is ready to fill that role with his whole heart.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Boomer has been around people his entire life. He will greet you calmly.
Tips and Tidbits: Boomer's birthday is 03/16/2016.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
