Must have: Another dog, a family with rescue dog experience, fenced in yard, time and patience a family that is home more often than not.
Exercise: Layla is very playful and loves to run around and play with other dogs.
Best with: Other dogs, gentle slow approach from the side, calm quiet environment
Not ideal for: Families with children, first time dog owners, families with other nervous or skittish dogs.
Energy level: High once she breaks the ice.
We want to be honest. Layla may always be a nervous dog. She's got a sensitive stomach we are still figuring out, and she has a long road until she is a "normal" dog. And she maybe never be the idea of a "normal house pet." But she is sweet and she is trying. She needs a family with another dog and experience with dogs like her.
Good with dogs: Yes, a must in her life.
Good with kids: We would not recommend Layla to a family with children.
Cats: Layla has never lived with cats. If you have them, let us know and we can test her.
Fun fact: Layla came into our rescue with a golden retriever friend that she LOVED! So, she loves goldens!
