Meet An Adoptable Dog

Sophie was one of many dogs seized from a hoarder in Abbeville, SC.  Many of the dogs were terrified and under socialized with humans and have taken a long time to warm up to our caregivers. Sophie has to yet come around and be fully comfortable with human touch. 

Sophie is a tiny, bashful girl who enjoys nothing more than sitting back and observing the world around her. Sophie is the sweetest little feral chihuahua you’d ever meet, but she has just a few quirks we think make her all the more endearing! She’s very bashful and shy and will not open up to you unless she absolutely trusts you and knows you're no threat to her and her little chihuahua clan! She has chihuahua DNA so protecting her friends is top priority in her little world! She is little but mighty and has no problem barking at strangers she doesn’t know, but we all know deep down this sweet girl wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Sophie is an active girl that loves to go outside and play with her many friends. She is crate trained and runs right into her crate, which is great getting her to vet visits and where she needs to go. She’s very gentle, loyal and nurturing. She spends most of her days sunbathing, eating her favorite treats and playing with her friends here at the farm. There is not one single dog who doesn’t like our sweet Sophie girl. Although she’s shy and scared of what humans have to offer, she has a sweet disposition that we all adore and appreciate so deeply.

Sophie wants to be loved, but under her own circumstances. She is feral and human interaction is very intimidating and overwhelming for her. She is not a dog who can be rushed, and patience has been key in getting her to open up to us. Here at the farm, Sophie gets to live life at her own pace. She is a sweet girl who keeps her guard most of the time, but if you’re lucky and are able to get to know her she will easily steal your heart and all of your treats!
