Honey Bun was rescued from a local shelter. Once we got her back to the farm, we realized Honey Bun was pregnant and she soon delivered and cared for 8 pups of her own. She took over nursing an additional 8 pups from another litter after her own babies had been adopted. This fabulous mama is ready to retire!

Honey Bun would do really well in a rural or very quiet home without loud noises or a lot of visitors and a fenced yard. She does well using a doggie door. She needs to be reassured when loud or sudden noises and thunderstorms occur. Honey Bun is hhy and timid with new people - wants to observe without being the center of attention.  Potential adopters may need to plan to visit her at the foster mom's home several times before Honey will be comfortable interacting.

Honey Bun's ideal family should be experienced with a sensitive, shy, non-trusting animal - will need GPS collar for first year.  She is food motivated and smart. Honey Bun will be an excellent walking companion once she becomes more self-confident.  She has not been around cats or young children.  She will be fine with other dogs that are calm and confident. She needs her own safe, quiet space to get away from normal household activities.

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
