My Story

Date into Rescue: 05/17/2025

Reason for being in rescue: Oscar was found as a stray and landed at a shelter. CPR pulled him from the shelter.

Special Needs: Oscar is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 06/23/25 Oscar had a dental polishing.

What kind of home would be best for me: Oscar is a pretty easy dog. He's well adjusted in his foster home and gets along with creatures big and small. Oscar would be happy as your only pet, or living with other pets. You can work outside the home and offer him a mid-day break, or be home during the day. You can live in a single-family home or a townhome/apartment. Oscar's one requirement is cuddling in the bed at night. He sleeps pressed against his foster mom and thinks this is the best way to snuggle.

What is my personality like: Meet Oscar, the Chihuahua mix with the world’s biggest smile and the happiest little heart! Found wandering the streets without a care in the world, Oscar greeted everyone he met with that signature grin. This sweet boy is the definition of go-with-the-flow — easygoing, gentle, and ready to roll with whatever the day brings.

Oscar loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is a total champ in the car. Whether you’re running errands, taking a road trip, or relaxing on the couch, he’s just thrilled to be by your side.

Oscar is a simple soul with one big wish - a person of his very own.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Oscar meets new people with ease. He's a low-key sort of boy that thinks new faces are new friends.

Tips and Tidbits: Oscar was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 10 years old. We celebrate his birthday 05/17/2015.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
