My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the rescue
Special Needs: Marley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/04/2025 Marley had several epidermal cysts removed. He is now ready for his forever home.
What kind of home would be best for me: Marley knows what he likes, and at the top of that list is being your one and only. He’s a people’s dog through and through and would rather soak up all your love than share it. He’s too pushy to live with small dogs or cats, and while he’ll tolerate other dogs in passing, he’s happiest as the solo star of your life.
What Marley really wants is a soft place to land and a family who sees beyond age or old stories—someone who just sees a loyal soul ready to love with everything he’s got. He doesn’t care if your house is big or small, if your sofa is fancy or covered in dog hair.
What is my personality like: Some dogs come with pedigrees. Some come with perfect teeth and glossy coats. And some - like Marley - come with character.
At 10 years old, Marley was surrendered, all because of a few lumps and bumps. But here’s the thing - those bumps - Gone. Removed. Done. Two veterinarians confirmed they were nothing serious — just harmless little badges of life. Marley’s had his tune-up and is ready to roll into his next chapter healthy, happy, and as handsome as ever.
Marley has spent his whole life in a home, so rescue life has been… a bit of a plot twist. New smells. New dogs. New routines. And while that might rattle some pups, Marley - He’s cool as a cucumber. Patient, gentle, and wonderfully easygoing with people.
Don’t let his gentlemanly age fool you - Marley’s got a mischievous streak that keeps life interesting. He’s clever, curious, and always ready to make you laugh with his little antics. He’s well-mannered, crate trained, friendly, and gentle, but he’s also the kind of dog who might test a boundary or two just to see if you’re paying attention.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a touch of charm, a sprinkle of mischief, and a whole lot of heart, Marley’s your guy. Love him once, and he’ll love you forever.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Marley is a happy boy who enjoys making new friends.
Tips and Tidbits: Marty's birthday is 5/20/2015
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
