My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Thaddeus was surrendered by his owners to a rural SC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.
Special Needs: Thaddeus is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. We have no history on Thaddeus' life pre-rescue. Given this, we cannot guarantee that he is a full standard poodle. We will not guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed.
What kind of home would be best for me: Though Thaddeus was surrendered by owners, his life seems to be sheltered. He is not a confident dog and lacks real world experience. This boy will absolutely need another dog in his new home. Canine companionship gives him the confidence he needs, and he truly thrives when he has a buddy to learn from and lean on. A home with routine, predictability, and minimal chaos will help Thaddeus feel secure as he continues to settle into family life.
With consistency and love, there’s no doubt he’ll grow into the confident, joyful companion we know he’s meant to be.
What is my personality like: Meet Thaddeus – The Gentle Apricot Gentleman. Thaddeus is a beautiful apricot Standard Poodle mix who’s just waiting for the right person to show him the world isn’t so scary. Though he may be a little nervous at first, it doesn’t take much to win him over—a quiet walk, some gentle pets, and suddenly you’ll find this sweet boy melting right into your arms, soaking up all the love and attention you’re willing to give.
Thaddeus came to us after his previous owner became very ill and could no longer care for him. Because of that, he’s still learning that the world is a big place—but also a fun and safe one when he has the right people by his side. Thaddeus is crate trained, does okay on a leash, and is eager to keep learning with a patient and gentle hand.
If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate soul who just needs a little time and understanding to shine, Thaddeus is ready to take that journey with you—paw in hand, heart wide open.
How do I act when I first meet new people: With just a little kindness, Thaddeus blossoms quickly and shows his affectionate, loyal nature.
Tips and Tidbits: The shelter aged Thaddeus at 4 years old. We celebrate his birthday 08/15/2021.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
