My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder surrender
Special Needs: Rachel is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 09/16/25 she had a dental with 2 extractions. Our veterinarian has recommended annual dentals for Rachel.
What kind of home would be best for me: Rachel has never known life as a companion. She is accustomed to dogs (lots of them) and routine. You will teach her what being a pet means. Her forever home is with a family that can offer her consistency and routine. A family that understands she has never lived in a home and is not house trained but is trying. A family that has another small, confident dog or a plan for socialization with other dogs 3-4 times per week EVERY WEEK is required. Rachel has never known life without canine companions. A family with an abundance of patience to go the distance with this special girl. Ideally, a family that has rescued before.

What is my personality like: Meet Rachel, a shy and timid little toy poodle whose gentle nature hides a quiet strength and a happy heart. While she may take a little time to feel comfortable, Rachel is deeply affectionate once she trusts you. She loves being picked up, held close, and cherished—reminding you every day how much she longs for connection.
Rachel truly thrives in the company of other dogs. She finds comfort in their presence and blossoms when she has a canine companion to share her days with, so another dog in the home will be important for her continued growth. At the same time, she adores people and will gladly soak up love and attention once she feels safe.
As a breeder release, Rachel is just beginning to learn the rhythms of family life. House routines, manners, and leash training are all new to her, and she will need patience and guidance as she builds confidence.
We believe Rachel would do well in almost any home environment, so long as her family understands she needs time, gentleness, and encouragement. With another dog by her side and humans who love her, Rachel will flourish into the joyful and devoted little companion she was meant to be.
How do I act when I first meet new people: While she may take a little time to feel comfortable, Rachel is deeply affectionate once she trusts you.
Tips and Tidbits: Rachel's birthday is 04/01/2018
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to /follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
