My Story
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder surrender
Special Needs: Debbie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 09/12/25 Debbie had a dental with 12 extractions.
What kind of home would be best for me: Debbie has never known life as a companion. She is accustomed to dogs (lots of them) and routine. You will teach her what being a pet means. Her forever home is with a family that can offer her consistency and routine. A family that understands she has never lived in a home and is not house trained but is trying. A family that has another dog is non-negotiable. Debbie has never known life without canine companions. A family with an abundance of patience to go the distance with this special girl. Ideally, a family that has rescued before.

What is my personality like: Meet Debbie, a delicate little toy poodle with a tender soul who is learning, step by step, what it means to be loved. Debbie comes to us as a breeder release, which means the big, wide world of being a family pet is all new to her. What she does know—and what makes her feel safest—is the comfort of having another dog by her side. Debbie will absolutely need a canine companion in her new home, ideally a confident leader who can help show her the ropes, give her reassurance, and model what a loved pet’s life looks like.
Debbie isn’t the kind of dog to rush into your arms right away. Instead, she prefers to observe from a safe spot, watching carefully before inching closer when she feels ready. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, she will warm up and allow her sweet, trusting nature to shine through. Having another dog to follow and mirror gives her confidence, helping her feel secure in unfamiliar situations.
Because Debbie is just beginning this new chapter, she will need guidance with house manners, leash training, and understanding the routines of family life. A quieter home, free from constant hustle and bustle, will be the best environment for her to grow at her own pace without becoming overwhelmed.
Beneath her timid exterior is a loving little dog who truly wants to belong. With the right mix of patience, structure, and canine companionship, Debbie will blossom into the devoted friend she’s meant to be. For the family who welcomes her gently and gives her the time she needs, Debbie will return that kindness tenfold with her quiet loyalty and sweet spirit.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Debbie is naturally shy and cautious with new people.
Tips and Tidbits: Debbie's birthday is 08/08/2019
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to /follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Potential Adopters
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
