My Story

Date into Rescue: 09/08/2025

Reason for being in rescue: Breeder surrender

Special Needs: Brother is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 09/15/25 he had a dental polishing.

What kind of home would be best for me: Brother has never known life as a companion. He is accustomed to dogs (lots of them) and routine. You will teach him what being a pet means. The good news - Brother is a happy dog that is eager to learn. His forever home is with a family that can offer him consistency and routine. A family that understands he has never lived in a home and is not house trained but is trying. A family that either has another dog is a non-negotiable. Brother has never known life without canine companions. A family with an abundance of patience to go the distance with this special boy. Ideally, a family that has rescued before.

If you are considering adopting Brother - a dog raised in a breeding facility - please read this important article before you submit an application: https://bestfriends.org/pet-care-resources/what-expect-when-rescuing-puppy-mill-dog

What is my personality like: Meet Brother, a tender-hearted little toy poodle. Like his name suggests he is a loving and fun addition to the family. This sweet boy will approach you timidly at first, his tail giving a soft wag as he offers a quick, shy lick to your fingers. He is still learning what it means to be cherished, cuddled, and truly part of a family.

Brother feels safest when you crouch down to his level, speaking softly and offering gentle pets before scooping him up. Because he has only ever known life with other dogs, Brother will absolutely need a companion his own size in his new home. Another small dog will not only help him feel secure but also guide him as he learns the ways of being a beloved pet.

As a breeder release, Brother is just beginning to discover the joys of family life. House manners, leash walking, and the rhythm of daily routines are all new to him, and he will need patience, kindness, and encouragement as he grows into them.

With love, understanding, and a gentle touch, Brother will blossom into a devoted and happy companion who will capture your heart in the most tender way.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Though he may take some time to warm up, once he trusts you, Brother’s sweetness shines through.

Tips and Tidbits: Brother's birthday is 02/26/2023

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to /follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
