My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/11/2025

Reason for being in rescue: Jelly was found as a stray in NC and landed at a shelter

Special Needs: Jelly was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. He is not hypoallergenic and will shed.  Jelly was a cryptorchoid when he was neutered.  You will be able to see a small scar on his abdomen where the additional surgery was done to fully neuter him.

What kind of home would be best for me: Jelly has 2 non-negotiables in his forever home. First, you must be home more than you are away (or take your pup with you). And second, you must want a dog snuggled up against you in the bed at night. Jelly has never been tested with large dogs or cats - his foster home has neither. He hasn't been exposed to children, though has a demeanor that we believe would be well suited to children over 10.

What is my personality like: Jelly is a terrier mix who was found as a stray, but what he’s searching for now is simple and clear - his person. More than anything else in the world, Bean just wants to be with you.

Jelly does well with other small dogs and can happily coexist in a multi-dog home, but he’d be just as content being your one and only, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. Jelly bonds deeply and loves nothing more than knowing he belongs.

Jelly enjoys playing with toys and will happily entertain himself, but when the day winds down, he wants to be right where you are. At night, Jelly sleeps snuggled up next to you in bed, perfectly content as long as he’s close.

Jelly would thrive in a home that values connection, companionship, and the quiet joy of having a dog who truly lives for his person.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Jelly is timid at first. Give him a little time and he'll be your best buddy!

Tips and Tidbits: Jelly was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 2 years old. We celebrate his birthday 10/11/2023.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
