Here's Your Quick Peek

Bowie was born at the home of a hoarder, where more than 50 dogs lived on the property and his parents could not be identified. He arrived at Carolina Poodle Rescue covered in fleas, filled with parasites and having never received a vaccine—but beneath that difficult beginning was a bright, affectionate and wonderfully playful little puppy.

Important Medical Information

Bowie is still receiving treatment for hookworms and giardia. Clearing intestinal parasites is often a process rather than a one-time treatment, so he will require additional deworming and follow-up testing until his veterinarian confirms that the parasites are gone.

His second puppy vaccination is scheduled for August 5, 2026, and he cannot leave for his new home before that date. His adopter must be prepared to complete his remaining puppy vaccinations and parasite treatment with their veterinarian.

Must have:  Someone home for at least half the day and at least one friendly, playful canine sibling

Exercise: Daily puppy play, running, exploration, training and mental enrichment

Best with: An active, engaged family with another sociable dog who wants a playmate

Not ideal for: A home where he would regularly spend long days alone or be the only dog

Energy level: Playful puppy energy

Bowie entered rescue as a shy, shut-down little fellow. Once he learned that food, fresh water, toys and affection would be there every day, he blossomed into a gregarious, curious and loving puppy who is going to bring someone tremendous joy.

Good with dogs:  Yes. Bowie needs a friendly canine sibling.

Good with kids:  Not yet confirmed

Cats:  Not yet confirmed

Fun fact: It took two days, four baths and two doses of Capstar to remove the fleas that had covered him since shortly after birth. Today, he is far more interested in toys, snuggles and finding someone to play with.
