Biography
Hazel is a beautiful dog who is a story of contradictions. She can be an absolute delight - a loving spirit with the biggest smile. She can also be moody - growling when things don't go her way or when she is confined, guarding toys that are hers, and nipping when she doesn't like something. She has a strong personality and knows what she wants.
Hazel landed at a shelter due to behavior in her previous home. She had a history of biting and nipping in her home, behaviors that sadly escalated to levels that were no longer safe. While Hazel is generally good to humans, she can be picky about friends, human or canine. Given this, she's best suited to be the only princess in the castle.
The best version of Hazel is all doodle. She is playful, walks well on a leash, rides well in a car, does well with house training, and wants to be where her humans are. She enjoys meeting new faces and getting all the love. In contrast, Hazel absolutely hates to be confined and has displayed some guarding behaviors in her crate. She will growl at people as they walk by a crate that she is in. She will guard toys, socks, or anything else she can get her paws on. She will growl and lunge and, if not careful, will bite.
Hazel's best home is safe in sanctuary with experienced caregivers and clear boundaries.
Sponsorship
Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs. If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support! Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate. Questions? Email: cprsosdogs@carolinapoodlerescue.org
I love my Virtual Adopters! HAZEL IS LOOKING FOR HER VIRTUAL FAMILY!
